Founded by me, Kevin Darnell Johnson II, the inspiration for this non-profit organization came from my own experiences. Partnering with my niece, Emani Johnson, and Tamare Johnson, I wanted to create something meaningful that truly gives back.The mission of this foundation is to break cycles by addressing the root causes of recidivism and transforming the criminal mindset. Our goal is to prepare individuals for life after incarceration so they can return to society as better parents, better role models, and stronger members of their communities.Through structured programs, mentorship, and resources, we aim to not only change perspectives but also provide opportunities for employment and leadership. Ultimately, this organization is about creating pathways for growth, responsibility, and resilience—showing that you can beat it.---

Additionally, we provide support to children of incarcerated parents through the provision of essential items such as backpacks, haircuts, and shoes, as well as mentorship opportunities to help them navigate the challenges they may face.
While there are existing organizations that provide support to either incarcerated individuals or their children, there is a notable lack of integration between parenting education and support for children. Parenting Through Incarceration and Beyond fills this gap by offering a holistic approach that addresses the needs of both parents and children. Our target demographics include incarcerated individuals seeking to improve their parenting skills and children of incarcerated parents who require support and guidance.
Organization and Management:Parenting Through Incarceration and Beyond operates as a non-profit corporation with a dedicated team of individuals committed to our mission. Key roles within the organization include a clerk responsible for order fulfillments, a manager overseeing day-to-day operations, a supervisor coordinating programs, and a bookkeeper managing finances. While we value the support of family members, we believe it is important to maintain professional boundaries in our business operations.
